Featured Area
The featured area that they have created for the home page is really nice.
- I like the fact that you have a lot of room to work with vs just a small picture and 25 words like many themes have for this function. You can actually create a nice product presentation sup bage here. Its a custom home page featured area to showcase your work or products with style, all powered by jQuery.
Custom Homepage
The featured area is just one component of the overall Custom home page layout with the additional option to insert any page above/below mini-features area. THe mini featured area is more like what I mentioned above a smaller area with a picture and brief text about a specific product or article you want featured without taking up all the real estate of the featured area. Clicking on one of the featured items takes you to a full product page for that item.
Portfolio Page Template
The Portfolio page template is a clean page that lets you organize your products / photos / whatever in a clean minimalistic way with built in sorting and navigation by type. I like this. Wish I could get just that option and add it to a few of my blogs. It is by Woothemes definitiion -An optional integrated portfolio section to show off your work, which utilizies jQuery prettyPhoto script for added effect.
Custom Post Types
Inspire takes full advantage of the new custom post types functionality than came with WordPress 3.0, so adding slides, mini-features and portfolio posts is dead easy!
Custom Widgets
Woothemes has built in a lot of its own special widgets.
